Privacy policy

1. Introduction

This policy explains how Eightech handles personal data through this website and in the course of business contact with prospective and existing clients.

It is written to describe what actually happens. Where this site does not do something — and there is a good deal it does not do — the policy says so rather than reserving the right in case we do it later.

2. Who we are

Eightech is a technology company operating between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, delivering managed IT and software services, outsourced technology teams, and its own software products.

3. Information we collect

There are three ways personal data reaches us through this site, and only three.

4. Information you give us in a form

Our contact and proposal forms ask for the information we need to reply usefully:

• Your name
• Your work email address
• Your company, and optionally its website
• Optionally your phone number and country
• The service you are interested in, and for proposal requests the company size, timeline, optional indicative budget, and a description of the scope
• Anything else you choose to write in the message field

Fields marked optional can be left blank. Please do not put sensitive personal data, credentials, or confidential client information of your own into a website form.

Marketing opt-in. Each form carries a single, unticked checkbox asking whether you would like to hear from us about services, products and occasional insights. It is entirely optional — your enquiry is sent and answered either way, and we do not make it a condition of replying. If you tick it we record the wording you agreed to and the moment you agreed, so the consent can be evidenced. If you leave it unticked we record that too, and you will not be added to any mailing.

5. Business and client information

If we go on to work together, we will hold business contact details for the people we deal with, along with the correspondence and documents the engagement generates. That processing is governed by the contract between us rather than by this website policy — see data processing.

6. Information collected automatically

This website sets no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. It runs no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recording and no visitor tracking of any kind. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not do automated decision-making.

As with any website, our hosting provider processes standard server request data — including IP address, browser user agent and the page requested — in order to serve the page and keep the service secure and available. We do not use that data to identify individual visitors.

7. How we use information

• To reply to your enquiry or proposal request
• To prepare a proposal, quotation or scope of work
• To manage and deliver an engagement once agreed
• To keep records of our business relationship
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations

We send marketing messages only to people who have ticked the opt-in box, and every such message carries an unsubscribe route. Unsubscribing does not affect our ability to answer an enquiry or run an engagement.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do not send marketing email to people who have only made an enquiry.

8. Legal basis

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies to our processing, we rely on:

• Legitimate interests — responding to a business enquiry you sent us, and running our business.
• Performance of a contract — where we are delivering services to you or taking steps at your request before entering a contract.
• Legal obligation — where we are required to keep records.
• Consent — for marketing messages, given by ticking the opt-in box on a form. You can withdraw it at any time, by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us, and withdrawing it does not affect anything we did while it was valid.

9. Service providers

One provider handles data on our behalf in connection with this website:

They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.

What you enter in a form is passed to Eightech's own customer relationship system so we can respond to you and keep a record of the enquiry. That system is ours; it is not a third-party marketing platform, and your details are not sold, rented or shared for anyone else's marketing.

We do not use an analytics provider, an advertising network, or a third-party form service.

10. Data sharing

We share personal data only with the providers listed above, with professional advisers where necessary, and where we are legally required to. We do not sell or rent it.

11. International transfers

Eightech operates between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, and our providers operate internationally, so personal data may be processed outside the country you are in.

Where a transfer is subject to the EU or UK GDPR, we put an appropriate safeguard in place, such as standard contractual clauses. If the storage location of your data matters to your assessment, ask us before you share it and we will tell you where it will sit.

12. Retention

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a record of our business relationship, and delete it when it is no longer needed for either. A specific retention schedule is being documented; until it is published, ask us and we will tell you what we hold.

13. Data security

Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to the people who need it to respond. Our wider approach is set out on the security page. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send credentials or highly sensitive material through a web form.

14. Cookies

This site stores a single preference in your browser to remember your cookie choice, and nothing else. The full detail is in the cookie policy, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.

15. Your rights

Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask us to:

• Confirm what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy
• Correct data that is wrong or incomplete
• Delete data we no longer have a reason to keep
• Restrict or object to how we are processing it
• Provide it in a portable format
• Withdraw consent, where we relied on consent — including unsubscribing from marketing at any time

Ask at contact@eightech.com. We will respond within the period the applicable law requires. If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local supervisory authority.

16. GDPR and other frameworks

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies to a given processing activity, we apply it. Eightech does not hold, and does not claim, any form of GDPR certification — no such certification is required to comply, and we would rather be accurate than reassuring.

17. Children's privacy

This is a business website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

18. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. The date changes only when the text does — it is not a build timestamp.
